Supports
Supports
Support points, levels and affinity bonuses.
Two units build support points by fighting near each other; ranks C, B and A add both partners’ affinity bonuses. In Exalted every pair grows at the same rate, except bonded pairs, which gain points much faster.
Bonuses apply while the partners are within 3 tiles. Each unit can hold one ranked support at a time.
Formulas
Atk adds to Str/Mag, Def to Def/Res. Verified on vanilla’s full 64-pair table; Exalted uses the same formula with its own affinity values (below).
Events: a chapter deployed together, a turn started adjacent, healing, carrying, shoving.

Support growth and bonds
TutorialIn Exalted, supports between two units usually grow at the same rate by default, with no hidden modifiers being present.
However, units that are bonded will not only gain bonus dodge and critical-hit chance when adjacent, but will also grow regular supports much faster than usual, with the amount of support points gained from most actions increased substantially.
Therefore, support speed only differentiates for those who are bonded, rather than having several hidden support types.
Choosing support partners based on bonds may therefore be advantageous in the short term.
Alternatively, they could make it easier to switch paired supports later on, allowing some flexibility along the way.
